Intuition Consulting F1 Movie with F1 & Apple TV +

Our first contract in Film & TV was almost ten years ago, and what a way to return, working on the new Apple TV+ F1 movie. Promising to immerse viewers in the exhilarating and cinematic world of F1, the film will star Brad Pitt as a former driver returning to the sport and Damson Idris as his team mate at APXGP – a fictional 11th team on the grid.

Described as “a landmark for the sport and cinema,” it has been filmed in real time during Grands Prix around the world and involves the F1 community, including all 10 teams, the drivers, the FIA, and race promoters.

The complex role involved coordinating simultaneously with Apple TV+ and Formula 1 to ensure the safety of the cast and crew while filming in the F1 paddock during the 2024 season. The role also required a combination of risk management and HSE oversight while remaining compliant with FIA and F1 regulations.

The intense global schedule delivered over 18 months of filming pushed Richard Bate, our MD, into the world of production risk management, which tested his skills and experience. Working in international motorsports was less challenging. Richard commented that it was a pleasure to work with so many good friends and safety colleagues while also getting to know the cast and crew.
